If you need more information about any of the food safety consulting or food waste reduction services we offer, or you have a particular question, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll be happy to help you out.
While we’re based in Northern NSW, we have a number of clients in regional NSW and we frequently travel to Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne to service others.
Regardless of your location, we can provide advice, consultancy services & training remotely – where ever you are.
Over the years, most of our work has been within Australia, however we’ve also completed work in New Zealand, Fiji, Asia, UK, Europe & North America.
We always recommend an initial onsite visit for large or complex projects. Onsite visits allow us to better understand your business and it’s context. This ensures that we can deliver you the best possible result.
Consulting:
New Clients:
We provide our new clients with either a fixed price quote or an estimate to complete the consulting portion of their project. The estimate option is more cost-effective, especially where the scale or scope of your project is evolving. With a project estimate you’ll only be charged for the actual time we spend working on your project.
Ongoing Clients:
For clients with ongoing consulting work, we usually work on an hourly basis and you’ll only be charged for the actual time we spend working for you. We don’t charge retainer fees for ongoing client support.
Training & Content Development:
Our training delivery is charged on the basis of either half-day or full-day rates. If required, any content development or customisation for your training program will be charged at an hourly rate.
Travel expenses:
We charge travel time on an hourly basis and all our direct travel expenses are charged at cost. We can provide you with an estimate of travel costs if required. We’ll always try to minimise travels costs wherever possible.
Currency:
We usually quote and invoice in AUD, however we can also quote and charge in EUR, GBP or USD.
This depends on exactly what you need us to do, how much you are able to do yourself and how complex your system is. For an accurate quote it really is best to contact us directly and discuss your specific requirements so we can tailor the right solution for you.
If you are able to complete a portion of the system documentation, you can drastically reduce the development time for a new system, as well as its cost.
As a rough guide, a food safety system designed to meet a GFSI standard which has been developed from scratch is likely to range from AUD$10,000 – AUD$25,000. This will depend on the product risk, process complexity and overall scale of your business.
HACCP systems, due to their relative simplicity will likely be in the range of AUD$5,000-$15,000. Again this will depend on the complexity of your business and your level of direct involvement in the documentation process.

It’s quite difficult to give you even a rough estimate here because of the huge variation in the quality of existing systems we see.
Over the years we’ve found that it’s often better in the long run to completely disregard your existing system and start afresh with one specifically designed to reflect exactly what your business does.
Most often food safety system revisions will be charged at an hourly rate, with an estimate provided before we start detailing the likely time we expect the review will take to complete. When we work on the hourly rate basis, only the actual hours worked will be charged.
Alternately, if you prefer us to provide you with a fixed price quote to complete your project, we can do that for you instead.
The timeline for developing your food safety system depends on several factors. The process will be much faster if you actively contribute by providing relevant information and promptly reviewing draft plans.
Starting from scratch with a new system takes longer but offers the opportunity to create a streamlined, fully customised food safety system tailored to your needs.
Additionally, some GFSI standards require a minimum period of record keeping, generally 3 to 6 months. This allows you to demonstrate effective implementation before your audit for your certification to be successful.
Absolutely. We pride ourselves on offering you a complete service package.
We value the long term relationships we have with all of our clients. While we have a genuine focus on developing your own ‘in-house’ capability & confidence, we’re always available to provide ongoing support and advice as needed.
We’re also very happy to be onsite with you to support your team while your initial external audit is being conducted.
Any ongoing support work will be charged at our hourly rate and you only pay for the time we’re working for you. We don’t charge any retainer fees.
We’re only ever a phone call away!
